SSC Squids

The Scottsdale Swim Club Squids is a is a family-oriented, parent-supported recreational swim team for children ages 4 to 18. We are a member of the Diablo Community Swim League (DCSL), and compete against the other teams during our normal swim season, which runs from April to August. During the season, you can expect 12-14 dual meets, a league championship meet, as well as countless of social activities!

All of our coaches have a long history with this team and truly love nurturing the next generation of young swimmers!

As a team, we are committed to providing a fun and nurturing environment for swimmers of all abilities where quality instruction and competition are balanced with family-oriented activities and team building.

Our goal is to have an opportunity for each swimmer, regardless of ability, do his or her best, gain recognition for their efforts, foster fellowship among our members, promote sportsmanship and have a lot of fun.

Practices

Practices are held daily Monday through Friday. The preseason runs from April 12th through June 11th with afternoon practices. The regular season runs from June 14th through July 16th with morning practices. We understand swimmers may have other commitments or vacations during the course of the season but we do encourage our swimmers to attend practice as much as possible. Daily swim practice is important for swimmers to learn stroke technique and to build strength and stamina, as well as to build rapport with teammates and coaches.

Swim Meets

From late May to mid July/early August, we average 2 meets per week held Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Additionally, we participate on Invitational meets and a season-ending League Championship Meet.

Parent Commitment

The number of jobs that are required to be worked by each family changes from year to year and is determined by registration numbers and job needs. On average, we require each family to work 10 jobs (meet jobs or social event jobs are available).
